What is cupping therapy?

Cupping therapy uses suction that decompresses muscles and connective tissue.

Where massage presses into tissue, cupping therapy lifts it. Cups create suction over the muscle, decompressing the layers beneath and drawing circulation to the area. Cups may rest in place for a few minutes or glide across oiled skin.

Cupping therapy is one of the oldest bodywork methods still in use, and it pairs naturally with massage. Abbagayl uses silicone cups, so the pressure is easy to adjust and the cups can glide with the massage instead of sitting still the whole time.

Clients often book cupping therapy for tight shoulders, upper back tension, or areas that feel stuck after long hours at a desk or behind the wheel. Round marks can appear where cups were placed. They usually fade within a few days, and Abbagayl talks you through what to expect before she starts.

Because the session happens at your home in Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Scottsdale or Phoenix, you can rest afterward instead of driving. Cupping therapy can be added to any massage at no extra charge, so part of the hour can go to cups and the rest to hands-on work.

Sessions run 60, 90 or 120 minutes at $150 an hour, with 30% off your first visit. Abbagayl is a licensed massage therapist in Arizona (license MT-28809), and you can confirm any therapist's license through the Arizona State Board of Massage Therapy.
